I AM NOT FAMILIAR WITH READING ROAD MAPS, AND THAT IS WHY I PURCHASED THE GARMIN GPS 260W. I WAS ABLE TO TRAVEL RECENTLY FOR THE BIRTH OF MY GRANDSON FROM TX TO LA (I MISSED MY EXIT TURN TO THE INTERSTATE THAT I WAS SUPPOSE TO TRAVEL ON). EVEN THOUGH I WAS UNFAMILIAR WITH THE SMALL COUNTIES THE GPS GUIDED ME THROUGH, I WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT TO MY DESTINATION (30 TO 45 MINUTES FASTER THAN WHEN MY HUSBAND TRAVELS ON HIS ROUTE FROM THE INTERSTATE). I WILL ADMIT THAT I GET REALLY NERVOUS WHEN TRAVELING IN UNFAMILIAR PLACES, BUT SETTING THE GPS FROM YOUR HOME ADDRESS, AND (WHERE TO) YOUR DESTINATION THAT YOU ARE WANTING TO TRAVEL TOO, YOU WILL NOT GET LOST (LOOK AT THE ARROW DIRECTIONS AT THE FAR TOP OF YOUR GPS, AND LISTEN TO THE VOICE INSTRUCTIONS), AND THIS GPS WILL GET YOU TO YOUR DESTINATION. THIS IS WHY I CALL MY GPS (MY GPS GUARDIAN ANGEL).

I purcharsed this GPS for my husband for Father’s Day after he had researched many online! This one does all the things we want and is EASY to use! Love the wider touch screen! I would highly recommend this item to anyone interested in a GPS!

This GPS is just what I wanted in that it’s very simple and easy to operate. It won’t take pictures or make phone calls or do the laundry. It just navigates. I tried using it around town and it works quite well, although it occasionally fails to tell me to make a turn–I haven’t figured out why. It doesn’t always choose the route with fewer stop lights and less traffic, but it always gets me where I’m going and sometimes shows me a better route than the one I usually take. The maps it came with were quite out of date. I was able to download newer maps free of charge, but this was a lengthy process. The new data is not as new as I’d like–it still lists restaurants that have been out of business for a couple of years. It speaks in a pleasant voice that usually pronounces street names correctly (but it put the accent on the second syllable in Bakerview–something no human would do). Overall I’m quite satisfied and feel confident in using it in unknown territory.

I purchased a refurbished Garmin 260W 4.3″ GPS. It is just like new! I was able to download the newest maps off of the Garmin Website. I would highly recommend this GPS to family and friends. It is very easy to use right out of the box. It holds a good charge for several hours.

So far so good. Have used the gps several times just to get used to the functions.Appears to have good battery life

and easy to use. Do like the larger screen size & the mounting holder. Wish there were some way to mount other than on the glass.
